PHP-Nuke
Based upon PHP and MySQL, PHP-Nuke is an automated content management and news publishing system specially designed to be used in Internet and Intranets. A free software, PHP-Nuke is released under the GNU General Public License and is fully controlled using a web-based user interface, where the Administrator has total control of his web site, registered users, and will have in the hand a powerful assembly of tools to maintain an active and 100% interactive web site using databases.
PHP-Nuke requires a web server which supports the PHP extension (such as Apache HTTP Server), as well as an SQL database (such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc).
Features of PHP-Nuke
PHP-Nuke allows webmasters to create a community-based portal (similar to that used by Slashdot), with an automated web site allowing users and editors to post news items (user-submitted news items are selected by editors). Using the comment system, users can comment on the articles. The webmaster is allowed to add more features to their PHP-Nuke installation by adding modules to the PHP-Nuke system. Web-based administration section is used by the administrators to maintain the whole system of PHP-Nuke.
PHP-Nuke is capable of supporting many languages including English, French, Portuguese, Thai and Turkish. Its look and feel is customizable to some extent using Themes system.
