What is b2evolution?

B2evolution, a powerful blog tool with evolved features like file and photo management, advanced skinning, multiple blog support and detailed user permission. With all these b2evolution supports third party plug-ins and is a free open-source (GPL) which runs virtually on any webserver with PHP and MySQL. Also available in many languages.

For blogging newbies

B2evolution automatically arranges your posts by date and category into a skin/theme that you can chose (and customize if you wish to do so). All you have to do is to fill up the form and hit “post this”, and in the next moment it’s on your website. Readers are allowed to leave comments below the posts. B2evolution runs on your own domain and website. You can install it as an extension to a website you already own.

For average bloggers

B2evolution is an advanced weblog tool or a software allowing you to run your own blogs, newsfeeds or even photo strea.

It does basically the same thing blogger or typepad does, but with two main differences:
